In this case, also the four pairs of the Buddha's eyes give a vivid flash to the four cardinal directions, meaning to keep a diligent watch over the people and their commitments all day all night. The chortens embrace the authentic philosophy of Mahayana the faith of which is known as Lamaism in Sikkim, Ladakh, Bhutan, and Tibet. Afternoon (after lunch) tour of Kathmandu Durbar (palace) Square and Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will be overwhelmed in the midst of countless monuments around Kathmandu Durbar Square. Nearby are great drums that were beaten to announce royal decrees. All woodcarvings, statues, and architecture in this area are exceptionally fine, and Kathmandu Durbar Square is among the most important sights for travelers to see. The complex also houses the Tribhuvan Museum that carries the Mementoes of different Shah Kings. Other places of interest with the square are Akash Bhairab Temple, Hanuman Dhoka, Temple of Kumari, Kastha-Mandap. After a glorious moment, a short drive leads west of Kathmandu suburb visit of ancient Swayambhunath, the oldest and a landmark of Nepal also known as Monkey Temple to foreigners. He believed to be 25 centuries old and stands as one of the world's oldest Buddhist Chaitiya. The Great Stupa of Syambhunath is the wonder that was Nepal, the glory that was Nepal. It is indeed listed a World Heritage for Site to prove that it serves as the nerve center of faithful worship for all the devout philosophy of Vajrayana in particular and honors Lord Adi-Buddha. It is dedicated to the self - originating flame God. The stupa, which forms the salient structure, is well composed of a solid hemisphere of terra - cotta bricks and soil supporting a cornice of copper and gilt. Painted on the four-sided base of the spiral are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha, keeping an eternal watch on the Valley distinguishing between vice and virtue. It is some two miles west of Kathmandu City proper across the holy Bishnumati River. Situated on the top of a hillock, it is about 500 feet above the level of the Valley. The whole hill is a mosaic of small Chaityas and pagoda temples possessing great five Mahayana (Lamaism) and one Hinyana (Theravadas). On the hill located another important Buddhist shrine; it is called Manjushree. This Chinese Buddha is the God of Knowledge. Nepal Visa Cost

All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, need visas to enter Nepal. Nepalese visas can be obtained from the Nepalese Embassy or consulate in your home country or it can also be obtained at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. Most of our guests take Nepal Visa after they arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Tribhuvan International Airport is the only international airport in Nepal. Immigration Office, TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport) under the Department of Immigration has been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. 'On Arrival' visa procedure is very quick and simple. You can expect some queues during peak Tourist season. If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad prior to your arrival. The choice is yours.

If you have obtained a visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions, then you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.

Visas obtained on Arrival at the Entry and Exit points are 'Tourist Visas'. They bear multiple Re entry facility. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the only entry visa to Nepal. If you are visiting Nepal for the purposes other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering, trekking, visiting friends and families), you should still get ' Tourist Visa' to get into the country. However, you must change the category of visa as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from the Department of Immigration by producing required documents. Nationals of designated countries are requested to acquire Visa prior to their arrival from their nearby Diplomatic missions (Embassies/consulates) of the Nepal Government. Please follow these simple procedures for Tourist Visa on Arrival at the airport (TIA) if you have not acquired Visa prior to boarding the plane.

1st Step: Fill in Online ‘Tourist Visa ‘form ( you can fill it up prior to your arrival visiting our official website Department of Immigration / fill it up using Kiosk machines upon your arrival at the airport). If you fill it from the website, you will get submission Receipt with barcode, please print it out and bring it along for acquiring a visa. It works for fifteen days and becomes invalid then after. If so, you will have to fill it up again.

2nd Step: Make payment at the bank according to your visa requirement ( 15/30/90 Days) Get the receipt. While you can use different modes of payments (at visa fees collection counter), we advise you to carry some cash to be on the safe side.

3rd Step: Proceed to the Immigration Desk with your online form, payment receipts, and your passport. Hand in your documents to the immigration officer for visa processing. He/she issues a visa to you upon his/her satisfaction.

Visa Extension Fee

Tourist visa extension is done for a minimum of 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days. In the case of delay less than 150 days additional USD 5 per day as of late fine.

Upon Arrival in Nepal

On arrival in Nepal at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport, our airport representative or staff will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to your respective hotel.
