This beautiful trek takes 14 days to complete. Upon arrival at the airport, you need to get your on-arrival visa from the immigration department at the airport if you don’t have one.

One of our representatives will wait outside with your name on a sign board. After meeting our company representative, you will be assisted in the Thamel area where you will stay & rest.

During leisure time, you can roam the Thamel area for money exchange, renting gear, eating, or different activities as Thamel is the best tourist hub in Kathmandu.

Lukla flight is now operated from both Kathmandu & Ramechhap airports. From Kathmandu, Lukla flight operates during the off-season while from Ramechhap, Lukla flight operates from Manthali airport during peak seasons.

Similarly, when the flight is from Ramechhap to Lukla, we need to start our journey at 3 am to catch the flight early. 

From Kathmandu city, the Ramechhap distance is about 144km which will take approximately 4-5 hours to reach.

After reaching Lukla Airport, you will meet your porter there and then you can start your trekking to Phakding which will take approximately 3-4 hours depending upon your fitness level. Overnight stay in Phakding.

Our second-day trek starts early in the morning with a short climb uphill to reach Monjo village while crossing some suspension bridge. From Monjo, it is a short descent to Sagarmatha National Park, where your guide will obtain the permit to enter the Sagarmatha National Park area.

A short walk will take you to the bridge to reach Jorsalle where we will have our lunch. From here, it’s 2-3 hours of the uphill climb until you reach Namche Bazar, a bustling town at an altitude of 3,440m.

Today's trek is approximately 6-7 hours which you will enjoy local cultures, suspension bridges, & dense forests of Rhododendron & Pine trees. Overnight stay at Namche Bazar.

Today will be the rest day at Namche Bazar where you can either roam Namche Bazar or hike to Syangboche.

If you hike to Syangboche, you can have a tea break at Everest View Hotel where you can have an outstanding view of Mt. Everest & Amadablam including other peaks.

Another option to enjoy your stay at Namche Bazar is walking high above Namche to the Park Museum where you can learn about Sherpa & their histories.

From Namche, we will start our trek early in the morning starting with a steep climb to reach a gradual scenic trail north to reach Khumjung village.

The trail gradually ascends through the forests of Pine Trees & Rhododendron from where it will take 2-3 hours to reach Phunge -Tenga located at an altitude of 3,250m. You can rest here or take lunch.

From Phunge-Tenga it will take another 2-3 hours steep uphill until you reach Tyangboche, which is famous for its festival Mani-Rimdu & oldest Monasteries.

Along the way, you have an opportunity to capture stunning views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, & Ama Dablam while crossing charming villages, suspension bridges & many more.

Overnight stay at Tyangboche.

From Tyangboche, follow the trail towards the east side to reach Pangboche while crossing dense forests of Rhododendrons & Pine trees.

From Tyangboche, it is a 2 hours trek to reach Pangboche village which is located at an altitude of 3,985m. From here, it is an uphill climb towards the North until you reach Dingboche which will take another 2-3 hours of walking.

The total hours you will trek today is approximately 5-6 hours to an altitude of 4,410m, Dingboche. When trekking to Dingboche from Tyangboche, you won’t miss the chance of stunning views of the mountains.

Another acclimatization day at Dingboche to adapt to altitude.

Today, we will hike to Nangkartshang peak for a great panoramic view of Imjatse Valley with Island & Tobuche peaks. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

Starting early in the morning, today’s walk follows the trail towards the North side to reach Dughla. It is 2-3 hours of trek climbing through the rocky terrain from Dingboche to Dughla.

From Dughla, it is another 1-2 hours of steeply uphill climb until you reach the top of the ridge where you will find the collection of memorials dedicated to unfortunate climbers who lost their lives on Mt. Everest.

Continuing the trek from the top of the ridge, it is a short descent and again uphill climbing for about 1-2 hours until you reach Lobuche Village which is at 4,910m.

A big day!

Starting early in the morning, our first destination today will be Gorakshep which will take around 2-3 hours from Lobuche.

From Lobuche, the trail follows east towards the Khumbu Glacier passing some rocky, uneven terrain & a series of small hills & moraines.

After 2-3 hours of hiking from Gorakshep, you will finally reach Everest Base Camp located at an altitude of 5,364m surrounded by Khumbu Glacier & mountains. After finishing all the jobs here, we will again head back to Gorakshep.

Another big day to have in Everest Base Camp Trek.

We will head to Kala Patthar which requires a short hike but rewards with the amazing beauty of peaks in close range.

From Gorakshep, it is a 1-2 hour of hike, following the south direction towards a steep & rocky trail. As you continue your trek, you will pass through a series of small hills, & moraines until you finally reach Kala Patthar.

Kala Patthar is a vantage point that offers a clear view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, & other Himalayan peaks.

After capturing the moments in Kala Patthar, we start descending all the way to Gorakshep & then back to Lobuche to reach Thugla, & then Pheriche.

It takes approximately 6-7 hours of trek to complete today’s itinerary. Overnight stay at Pheriche.

From Pheriche, we will head in the North direction crossing several small villages, and suspension bridges all way to Tyangboche.

From Tyangboche, the trail follows downhill towards to Phungi-Tenga & then to Namche Bazar while crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River.

It will approximately take 7-8 hours to reach Namche Bazar from Pheriche. However, because we will be returning back to a lower elevation, it will be easy for us.

Today will be our one last trek from Namche to Lukla which will take 6-7 hours of walking following the Dudh Koshi River all the way to Phakding village. From Phakding village, it is the same route back to Lukla where we will spend our last night in the Khumbu region.

Today we will head back to Kathmandu but first, we need to confirm where we will be landing.

If we are landing at Manthali Airport of Ramechhap from Lukla, it will take 4-5 hours to drive from Ramechhap to Kathmandu.

If we are landing in Kathmandu, then it will take less time. The flight depends upon which season you are trekking.

So, basically, we will reach Kathmandu today and you will be transferred to your hotel.

Everest Base Camp Trek Accommodation

Accommodation in Everest Base Camp will be Tea houses or lodge which will provide normal food & lodging service. Up to the Namche Bazar, you will be provided good rooms with attached bathroom & hot shower services. From Namche Bazar, you will find normal or basic rooms only with basic facilities like electricity, food & lodging.

Food in Everest Base Camp Trek

The tea houses or lodges on Everest Base Camp trail provide Continental, Indian, Chinese, & Nepalese cuisines. You will be provided Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner with your own choice of meal during the trek & seasonal fruits after dinner. Similarly, 3 cups of coffee or tea will also be served daily.

For all the vegan/vegetarian trekkers, they will also be served with their own choice of meals.

Difficulty level of Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate-level trek that can be done by any trekker. However, physical fitness is very important to be able to trek on this beautiful trail. Similarly, 5-6 hours of day-to-day is expected in this trek which can sound very hard but you will have enough time to take breaks.

During acclimatization day, you can go hiking or visit lots of different places which is not that very hard. Challenging and adventuring is the best way to adapt altitude of Everest Base Camp Trek.

Are there cellphone services at Everest Base Camp?

Getting a tower or connection in some higher areas like Gorekshep is nearly impossible however there is indeed cellphone service in Everest Base Camp Trek. In larger groups, instead of cell phones, the guide will carry a satellite phone to communicate in case of emergencies. 

Physical Fitness Required for the Everest Base Camp Trek

As the Everest Base Camp trek is a moderate-level trek, it needs a minimum of medium level of physical fitness which can take at least a minimum of 6 weeks for healthy people. If you are a starter then 8 - 10 months of workout is necessary which will improve your cardio exercise, endurance & mental health.

Outdoor activities like multi-day hiking, cycling, swimming, and running are popular activities that trekkers do to prepare for Everest Base Camp Trek.
