We recommend the best time to visit Chitwan National Park in the following seasons;

October to March: This period offers the most pleasant weather and the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Here's why:

October to March – Peak Season

Weather: Mild temperatures (15°C to 25°C), low humidity, and clear skies.

Wildlife Viewing: Excellent visibility as animals gather near water sources, and grass is shorter after the monsoon.

Activities: Ideal for jungle safaris, bird-watching, canoe rides, and cultural visits to Tharu villages.

Best months:

October – November: Post-monsoon freshness, lush greenery, and abundant wildlife.

February – March: Cooler mornings, warming days, and great for birdwatching (many migratory birds).

April to June – Hot and Humid

Pros: Fewer tourists, good for spotting wildlife (they gather near water).

Cons: Very hot (can exceed 40°C), which can make safaris uncomfortable.

July/August â€“ Monsoon Season

Not recommended:

1. Heavy rainfall leads to muddy trails and flooding.

2. Many lodges close.

3. Wildlife is harder to spot in tall grasses and dense foliage.
