We Provide High-Quality First Aid Medicine Kits for Everest Base Camp Trekking

Once you are planning to do the Everest Base Camp trek, the first aid kit (personal medicine box) is important while you are trekking in a remote high-altitude remote mountain region in Nepal.

We advise you to take with you into account that at altitude small injuries take a long time to heal, so prevention is better than a cure. On treks, good personal care and hygiene are important in order to prevent complications to simple injuries.

There is for sure! We (Nepal Spirit Adventure) provide a general high-quality first aid kit for all our Everest base camp trekkers. Our experience trek guide always carries a basic first aid kit including water purification treatment but if you require a more comprehensive kit, most medications are really available and inexpensive if Kathmandu with no doctor’s prescription.

First Aid Kit Note

We highly recommend you! Please do not bring sleeping pills, they are a respiratory depressant, using this type of drug no one can achieve their golden dream of reaching the Everest base camp at 5,364m.

We are providing the following recommendation first aid box and do not forget to pack a list of a personal users during the Everest base camp trekking.

  • Acute Mountain Sickness: Diamox, Dexamethasone
  • Acute Mountian Sickness: Portable Altitude Chamber (hyperbaric bags can be hired in Kathmandu.
  • Antiseptics (disinfectant): Dettol, iodine, solution, Burn cream (silva zine, Burnol)
  • Pain Killers (analgesics): Paracetamol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Codeine phosphate and Fentany1.
  • Antibiotics: Infections and especially for Stomach and chest
  • Amoxicillin Cephalexin: P Ciprofloxacin (for typhoid and severe dysentery, please note: Many stomach infections are developing resistance to this antibiotic so it may be worthwhile considering Azithromycin or similar as a backup. Cotrimoxazole, Doxycycline, Erythromycin, Metronidazole, and Tinidazole.
  • Eye and Ear Infection: Chloramphenicol
  • Fungal Infection: Miconazole
  • Nausea and Vomiting: Anti-emetic-Stemetil
  • Indigestion: Antacid tables
  • Constipation: Durolax (laxatives)
  • Anti Motility: (alleviate the symptoms of diarrhea) Immodium, Lomotil
  • Respiratory Medication: Sinutab, lemotab, Asthma spray
  • Anti Allergy and Anti Inflammatory: Hydrocortisone cream calamine, Polaramine
  • Dental Clove Oil
  • Skin blister kit
  • 1 Set of earplugs: (tea trekking lodges have thin walls, snoring can keep awake)
  • Instruments: Thermometer, tweezers, scissors, and suture kit
  • Dressing and Wound Care: Band-aids, cotton buds, Triangular bandages, cotton roll, square gauze, sterile gauze, adhesive tape bandages, elastic bandages, etc

Basically, we supply with our trek crews first aid for our Everest base camp trekkers but you can also bring your own first aid medicine box by yourself which will be very helpful along the trip to Everest base camp.
